about The Artist
I am Emily, an award-winning medical illustrator who holds an MA from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and Medical and Biological Illustration and a BS in Neuroscience from UCLA.
I have always expressed my curiosity of the world around me through pencil and paper - amassing mountains of doodles over my youth. This carried over into my undergraduate career, in which I often relied on the diagrams and visuals I drew to fully absorb the scientific concepts that fueled my curiosity and inquisition.
Upon conducting research in pediatric neurology, and recreationally creating artwork to help fundraise for epilepsy, I was introduced to medical illustration by my preceptor. It was a natural calling, as I emerged a Vesalian Scholar, Frank Netter Scholar, and AMI Salon winner.
For my clients, I aim to create didactically accurate illustrations infused with innovative color themes and engaging storytelling that many will pause to admire. In my free time, I enjoy scaling indoor and outdoor climbing routes, working with horses, sculpting, and raising my feline children.
